Sara Ali Khan became a celebrity even before officially stepping into Bollywood. Born into the family of Nawabs, she is a distant relative of Indian Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and granddaughter of legendary Indian cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore. She is the daughter of famous actor Saif Ali Khan and actress Amrita Singh.

Sara Ali began her career in the entertainment industry after featuring on the cover page of ‘Hello’ magazine with her mom and did a couple of other modelling assignments. She later dropped them and went on to pursue her studies abroad. With around 1.8 million followers on Instagram and and 20.1 K followers on Twitter, Sara Ali Khan has already become the sensational diva of Bollywood. She is already making colossal fashion statements by featuring in Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi regularly at various social events. At just 25 years of age, Sara Ali has managed to gather a large fan following, particularly of youngsters. She is sure to make heads turn with her upcoming movie titled ‘Kedarnath’ alongside Sushant Singh Rajput which is her debut film.

Age, Height and Weight

Born on 12 August, 1993 in Mumbai, India to Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, Sara is the elder of their two children. As of today, she is 25 years old. She is 5’4” tall and weighs around 50 Kg.

Family Background

Sara is Muslim from her father’s side while from her mother’s side she is Sikh as well as of Muslim descent. Sara has two aunts namely, Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan and an uncle Kunal Khemu (married to Soha Ali). Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is Sara’s step mother whom she hails as her idol.


Sara has a younger brother Ibrahim Ali Khan (born in 2001) who is yet again a star child featuring regularly on social media and b-town parties. She also has a half younger brother, Taimur, from her step mother Kareena Kapoor Khan. Kareena Kapoor’s marriage to Saif Ali Khan associates Sara to the entire extended Kapoor family.

Career and Movies

With her mother’s looks and father’s talent, Sara has set a-sail her acting career with her upcoming romantic blockbuster ‘Kedarnath’  reportedly based on 2013 Kedarnath Catastrophe. The film is set to release on 7 December 2018 where she is starring opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. By the looks of the trailer, there is an intense on screen chemistry between the two. She will also be seen in the movie ‘Simmba’ opposite Ranveer Singh directed by Rohit Shetty. The movie is scheduled to release this year in December.

She is reportedly also going to be seen in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

Sara also starred in season 6 of ‘Koffee with Karan’ recently alongside her father where she openly proclaimed her liking towards the actor Kartik Aryan and said, if given a chance, she would love to ‘date’ him.


Sara Ali Khan studied at Besant Montessori School, Mumbai and completed her graduation in 2016 in History and Political Science from Columbia University, New York.

Personal Life

Sara Ali Khan was chubby as a kid and weighed more than 90Kg as a teenager. She recently opened up about her struggle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOD) and weight issues on ‘Koffee with Karan’. Although now she weighs around 50 Kg owing to intense workout and change in dietary habits. Her gymming sessions are a regular subject of attention for the paparazzi.

Although Sara has never spoken out publicly about her love interests but around some time ago, she was rumoured to be dating Harshvardhan Kapoor (Anil Kapoor’s son) and then later on Ishan Khatter (Shahid Kapoor’s brother). She has also been associated with Veer Paharia, son of famous businessman Sanjay Paharia but Sara has never confirmed any of these claims.

She shares very close bonds with other star kids like Jhanvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and Ishan Khatter.

  • Her favourite actors are Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.
  • She recently confessed of having a fake Instagram account which she uses to stalk hot models and actors. When asked about her fake account she said she felt uncomfortable about exposing her identity and didn’t want people to know her activity on social media.
  • Sara is a regular at the gym and a Tennis enthusiast. She has often been spotted playing Tennis with her brother and her father to seems to share her interest.
  • Despite the rumours, she shares a very close bond with he stepmom, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Kareena was recently seen praising Sara in an interview and said “She has it (acting) in her genes.”
  • She is an exuberant dancer.
  • She also admitted that while she still a teenager, she wanted to marry Ranbir Kapoor.
