The Hero Motorcorp is widely known throughout the Indian subcontinent and it’s not just because of the ads.
Hero has constantly strived to give bikes and scooters suiting the needs of the Indian population. It exhibits a style and standard that other companies at times even try to replicate.
When it comes to commuter bikes too Hero Motorcorp has always delivered.
With its popular Glamour, Hero Motorcorp had already taken a leap into the commuter segment. But with the Hero Passion XPro, they’ve really shown that when it comes to bikes, they can really outdo themselves.
Released alongside the Super Splendor and Passion, the Hero Passion XPro does put a lot of new stuff n the table, but only dishes we can chew and certainly modified from the ones we love.

The Hero Passion XPro is the prodigal son of the Hero Passion Pro and sure does have a lot more to offer than its predecessor. The 2018 Hero Passion XPro has in its heart a 109cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine which would fit right into the commuter bikes currently doing the rounds. This engine was introduced much before in the Splendor iSmart and with its reliability given credit for, reintroduced into the Passion XPro. Hero claims the new motor can be up to 12% more efficient when it comes to the power output factor, which is itself a huge jump.
With a max power of 9.3bhp at 7500 rpm and 9Nm of peak torque at 5500 rpm, the statistics do stand with the Passion Xpro. Hero had long before introduced a start-stop system to improve vehicle characteristics. The Hero Passion XPro also includes the very same i3S start- stop system which should evidently improve the fuel economy of the motorcycle.
Physically the Hero Passion XPro does have some trendy things to offer. With a new 13-litre fuel tank, with much more sharpened and structured body work and lamp designs, the Passion XPro is quiet the hunk. The instrument console is also semi-digital and it has at its tail a LED tail lamp. The frame of the bike is a double cradle frame which is much more rigid. This restricts the bike to within permissible ranges and thereby gives better stability.
The official video and a video review
The Passion XPro, though trying to display and attain similar customer satisfaction as its predecessors is cut short due to a variety of factors. Mainly the service centers do provide a huge issue. Customers who mention service center inefficiencies are too many. The mileage is also an issue brought up with customers mentioning a mileage of close to 50kmpl. The motorbike as a whole proises a great a lot, but the users are yet to be satisfied.
The Hero Passion XPro is available in a variety of color combinations, each looking trendier than the one before. In fact, the colors entice the riders in a completely different way and at times the right color variant reflects the soul of the rider. The Hero Passion Pro is available in two different types depending on the brakes. The Drum type and the Disc type. The i3s Disc Alloy variant is not available as much as the Drum counterpart which is available in most showrooms.

The Passion XPro is definitely an upgrade form its predecessor the Hero Passion Pro which was itself a well-loved motorcycle. It competes with the like of CB Shine and Livo in the commuter segment. It shows great promise and the specifications promised do seem to keep the Hero Passion XPro right at the top with the others. There are few very good bikes in the 120cc segment and the Hero Passion XPro sure does strive to be one of those.
