Gromax is a Joint venture company of the Mahindra’s and Gujrat Government. The company has launched its trackstar range to compete with all the established players including Mahindra tractors. The USP of this brand is that they are 5 to 10% cheaper and there are a lot of “easy finance” options available. Also, the quality levels and after sales service would not be an issue because of Mahindra expertise. On an average, the company sells 1500 tractors a year which is a big number as it’s the latest entrant into the market.
Gromaxtrackstar 550 is a 4-cylinder 48 HP tractor. Its powered by 2979-cc engine which is mated to a partial constant mesh gearbox and a dual clutch. The gearbox consists of 8 forward and 2 reverse gears. This tractor can be ideally utilized for general purpose farming operations. Oil immersed disc brakes are assembled which are efficient in all weather and ground conditions. Power steering is available as an option which is highly recommended as it reduces the driver’s fatigue.
The fuel capacity is of a very generous 63 liters which means you have sufficient enough range for farming before it dries up completely. The tractor is also more fuel efficient compared to other tractors. The total weight of the tractor is 1945 kilograms. The length of the tractor is 3540 mm which is bigger than its competitors. Company offers a two years warranty on this product.
Trackstar 550 is 48 HP tractor while the Mahindra 585 is a 50 HP tractor. This gromax has 3-stage wet cleaner whereas the others from the competition have oil bath type air-cleaner. Mahindra 585 has full constant mesh gearbox as an option which has a slight edge over the partial constant mesh gearbox in the trackstar. Most of the tractors in this category have 8 forward and 2 reverse gears. The Trackstar offers oil immersed disc brakes which are not very common or offered as an option from other brands. These brakes are more durable and efficient. The fuel tank capacity of this tractor is the highest.
However, the total weight is lower than the others in comparison. This could be a problem for heavy load carrying. To address the issue of elevation of tractor from the front, company has increased the length and have assembled some weight at the front.
Finally, this seems to be a very good option, if general purpose 50 HP tractor is your requirement. You would have the option of some easy finances.
However, if your work includes frequent load lifting above 1200 kilograms then there are other better options available.
