First, the student must be an individual who is currently attending a university or college and has at least six months of uninterrupted use of his or her edu email account. In addition, he or she must be enrolled as a full time student at such a school or university. If a student has been out of school for at least two years, he or she cannot get a prime email account as it is considered as an expired student account. Expired student accounts are closed and cannot be renewed after six months.
