Jaguar brand is famous for their luxury sedan offerings. These cars have a massive road presence and are very well known for their driveability.
They can be recognised by their typical long bonnet and short overhang style. Recently the company introduced their ultimate luxury SUV, F-Pace which “wow”ed the fans.

The car is very practical in terms of storage spaces, it does have a lot of cup holders, chargers, etc. The car also hosts a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The glove box is not really the biggest of the lot. There are buttons for sun-blinds and sun-roof as well. The top model offers a fully digital instrument cluster, heads up display while the other base model gets conventional dials. The top spec variant also gets a better audio system. The portfolio (top end) model gets a 360 degree camera and a park assist system. The steering feels premium because of the quality of materials used. The driver seat does get a memory function and electric adjustments.
The fuel efficiency is 12 kilometres for a litre. Even with a tall person sitting at the front row. The rear seat offers decent knee room for any average sized adult. The transmission tunnel at the rear won’t allow the third passenger to be comfortable inside. The rear tail lamps look like they are inspired from jaguar F-type. It can go up to 230 km per hour. The petrol motor is the best to drive and is faster than all its rivals.
The gear shifts are quick and there are 4 driving modes on offer. The dynamic driving mode gives the best driving experience and the steering weighs very well. The XF feels very comfortable even in the dynamic mode. The ride quality is not hampered by any driving conditions. You can hear slight engine and the road noise till the time you get used to it. Diesel engine is not the most refined of the lot and it feels best within 2000 to 4200 rpm.
This Jag is a very special sedan and is offered in one variant and 2 colours. The ex-showroom price is 1.1 crore. Its powered by a 3-liter diesel engine which makes 301.73 BHP at 4000 rpm and 689 Nm at 1800 rpm. The car looks really very long in length. The wheels look a bit smaller on this one. The twin exhaust finished in chrome gives it a sporty feeling. The tail lamps are really unique and look exceptionally beautiful.
The boot houses a space saver tire. The door pockets are not really large to house 1-liter bottle but the fit and finish on the door pads is phenomenal. There is a meridian sound system which feels great. The dash board looks rich and premium because of the two tone colour schemes and extensive use of rich quality leather. The infotainment system works well and can easily connect to your phone. The head rests are massive.
There is a small analogue clock on the centre of the dashboard which appears to be a conventional touch. A lot of stuff can be packed into the central arm rest which houses 2 USB plugs and a 12 Volt charging socket. There are a lot of controls on the central arm-rest at the rear seat. Seats can be ventilated and heated as per the atmospheric conditions. The central arm rest also holds two USB ports and 2 HDMI ports.
The seats are perfectly well cushioned and host 4 massage options. The new XJ is quick, and it feels more powerful. The gearbox is very quick to respond. The ride quality is beautiful but not better than the Mercedes. Overall, this is really a beautiful limousine to be in but not compared to the S-Class which is the ultimate luxury vehicle.
The f-pace is available in 2 variants and 5 colours. Both petrol and diesel engines are of 2-liter. The 1997-cc petrol engine makes 246.74 bhp at 4000 rpm and 365 Nm of torque at 1300-4500 rpm. The diesel motor makes 177 bhp at 4000 rpm and 430 Nm of torque at 1750-2500 rpm. The car retains the typical jaguar long bonnet and short overhang style.
The SUV sits on 19-inches tires. There are a lot of distinguishable elements on this SUV, like the tail lights and headlights. The black bumper at the back looks good on a white car. There are a lot of hooks inside the boot. Also, the company fits in a full-sized spare tire inside the boot. The door pockets can house some small sized bottles and hosts ambient lighting which feels beautiful at night. The switches to open or close the windows are located on the top of the door panel like the land rover. It gets a 12.3-inch virtual display for the instrument cluster which gives a tonne of information. The car comes with a large and beautiful sunroof.
There are a lot of buttons on the steering wheel, the right-side buttons are for the cruise control while the left one’s are for the infotainment, call, etc. This one hosts the very useful park assist system which can slot the car in and out of the tight parking spots automatically. The engine sounds filter’s inside the cabin but that’s a very sporty note so that may not be a problem.
The power feels a bit low sometimes, but it always does the job very well. A 3-liter engine option could have made this car a little bit punchier and engaging to drive. The electric power assisted steering system is sharp. Even in the dynamic mode, ride quality is excellent.
The F-Type is a sports car and is available within a range of 90.93 lakhs to 2.80 crores. The supercar comes in 8 variants and 10 colour options. Its available in 2.0-liter and 5-liter automatic transmission models. The 2-litrer makes 296.36 bhp at 5500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1500-4500 rpm. And the 5-liter makes 543 bhp at 6500 rpm and 680 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. It has a very good low-end punch which gives you that sporty feeling when you tap the throttle.
The power figures from the two-litre engine feel a bit low especially if you are looking for a very high-performance sports car. The looks of this car are more stylish than probably any sports car in the world. The aggressive headlights, sharp taillamps over violent exhausts just adds up to her sporty nature. It retains the jaguar long bonnet style. Because this car is more sports oriented, it scores low on practicality. The door opening levers eject out when you wish to get inside and that’s a very unique touch.
The interiors are not particularly premium and sporty like the other rivals. Its standard sophisticated and adequate. Even with the smaller engine, this jaguar comes up as a great option because it looks like a beast and its very cheaper than the V8 and that’s what customers buying this car would probably require. The engine also offers more than adequate power for city driving and it feels best round the corners. All these things make this car a very wonderful package that too under 1 crore price tag.
The Jaguar XE prices start at 40.61 lakhs and go up to 47 lakhs. Its available in the very famous jaguar 2-liter petrol and a 2-liter diesel engine option. The petrol engine makes 246.74 bhp at 5500 rpm and 340 Nm at 2000-4000 rpm. While the diesel engine makes 177 bhp at 4000 rpm and 430 Nm at 1750-2000 rpm. From the front you can easily mistake this one to be an XF. It gets the same grille and headlight design.
The jaguar logo on the grille signifies its origin and looks fabulous. The tail lamps are also like the f-type. The boot can open up with a touch of a button on the key. The front seat when pushed completely ahead, opens up generous knee room at the back. There are not many functions at the rear. But three passengers can fit in easily in this car, moreover there is a seatbelt for the middle passenger as well.
This will make long journeys for five safe and comfortable. The door pockets can house 1-liter water bottles. The gear lever which comes out when the engine is ignited looks stunning. The two-tone colour pattern on the dashboard looks premium. The quality of materials used inside the car is very high. Both the engines are silent and refined.
There are four modes in which the car can be driven. Around the corners, this car feels very confident and the steering gives a very confident feedback. The best part about this vehicle is the ride quality. The suspension system does its job very well and no surface undulations whatsoever are filtered inside. The portfolio comes with a 360-degree camera.
The company plans to introduce the face lifted XE, I pace and E pace in the coming years.
