BMW X1 range starts at Rs. 35.20 lakh for petrol and goes upto Rs. 45.40 lakh for top end model. The prices of the diesel SUV start at Rs. 35.20 lakh and the top-end diesel is priced at Rs. 45.40 lakh. It is available in 5 variants and 5 colors. It’s basically a front wheel drive vehicle. It looks a lot more proportional unlike the previous model which looked long enough, specially the bonnet. The car sports sharp LED headlights along with the signature kidney grill.

The rear seat is completely changed from the previous model, this new 2nd row has a good under thigh support and a leg room sufficient enough even for passengers more than 6 feet in height. The shoulder room is also enhanced. The driver seating position is high, It comes loaded with all the entertainment features as well. In terms of practicality, the car scores very high as it has bottle holders, charging sockets everywhere. The boot is spacious enough to carry all the family luggage for a big outing.

The X1 is available only in diesel variant and uses 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. Peak power is 187bhp and max torque is a strong 40.7kgm. An eight-speed automatic gearbox is offered as standard fitment, but buyers have the option to choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The car has a very strong mid-range and there is adequate power available just at the right time. The gear shifts are smooth and quick.

The price range of the new X5 is from 69.4 to 82.90 lakhs INR. BMW X5 is available in 3 variants and 6 colors. The 3-liter diesel engine makes 258 bhp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 560 Nm at 1500 to 3000 rpm. The kidney grill looks imposing and the LED headlamps are sharp. Also, now there are a new set of alloy wheels on offer. Overall, this vehicle looks bigger and smarter than the previous generation model.

There is a tremendous amount of knee room and head room on offer for the second row of seats. The panoramic sunroof helps to make the cabin feel airier. The infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster seem to be in a perfect coordination. You can select the set of information you need on the instrument cluster. It has a wonderful mid-range torque.

All new 3 series is available in 3 variants. The range is from 39.80 lakhs to 47.30 lakhs. Automatic gearbox is a standard fitment on all the three variants. It looks like a bigger sibling of the old 3 series. The interior luxury inside the cabin is refined as ever! Gesture control and the apple car play make daily commute very easy for enthusiastic drivers. More than adequate amount of head room and knee room are on offer at the back seat.

The M sport is the only petrol version available which is powered by 1.9-liter petrol engine. Petrol motor churns out 252 bhp at 5200 rpm. It has a 8-speed auto gearbox. The other two models come with a 1.9-liter diesel engine which makes 190 bhp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm at 1750-2500 rpm. The petrol version has got a very good engine exhaust note.

It feels rather sporty and interesting, than irritating. The sport mode is best suited if you want to pull the engine up to 7000 rpm. The two stage damping system on the car lets no bump, pothole, or any undulation filter through. The diesel engine in the new 3 series is the best in terms of refinement. Power availability also very linear. This car offers great confidence round the corners.

BMW 5 Series:

The 5 series is available from 53.8 lakhs to 66.20 lakhs. It is available in 4 variants with Automatic transmission as standard on all the variants. The sedan sports a 1.9-liter diesel as well as a petrol engine. The petrol engine makes 252 bhp at 5200 rpm. A peak torque of 350 Nm is experienced at 1450- 4800 rpm.

The showstopper diesel makes 190 bhp at 4000 rpm and 400 nm of torque at 1750-2000 rpm. This new BMW can come out of that tight parking space without anyone on the driver seat! This car feels heavenly in the comfort mode. Adaptive dampers help the new BMW to adjust the suspension setup according to the tarmac. The car feels extreme fun around the corners. There is no sudden explosion of torque, faster you swing stronger it pulls.

The best quality nappa leather makes the rear seat passenger very well comfortable. There is a generous amount of knee room, head room and the seat grip you very well when you are around the corners. You get a multi information display at the back seat. The larger front seats are more comfortable. There is a lot of tech carried over from the 7 series. Gesture control is one of the cool features.

BMW 7 series

This is a predominantly chauffeur driven limousine. The price of the BMW 7 series is from 1.20 crore to 2.45 crore. The diesel version makes 261.49 bhp at 4000 rpm and 620 Nm of torque at 2000-2500 rpm. The petrol motor makes 321.8 bhp at 5500 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 1380 to 5000 rpm. The company has changed the front grille and now it looks even more imposing. Already quiet cabin is now more refined and quieter.

You do not hear any kinds of sound inside the cabin. It now pampers the customers with the sport plus mode. The steering is light and direct. It also has a rear wheel steering which makes the handling even more accurate. It also has an extremely sharp throttle response in the diesel. Everything you need at the rear right from the front seat incline to the massage function can be controlled from the tablet at the rear. There are various sunblinds to pamper the passengers inside.

You have host of color options to choose the ambient lighting theme inside the car. The feature list of this car is huge but still less in comparison to the Mercedes Benz S Class.
